Yang Jun, Visiting Professor at Hubei (Wuhan) Institute of Explosion and Blasting Technology, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Beijing Institute of Technology, and Academic Leader in Blasting Science at the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology.
He has long been engaged in teaching and research on blasting theory and safety technologies. He has undertaken research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Beijing Institute of Technology, the State Key Laboratory, as well as numerous provincial and ministerial-level scientific research programs and industry collaborations. He has persistently researched rock blasting damage theory models and simulation technologies, with achievements in numerical simulation techniques for building demolition blasting processes, blasting seismic effects, and control technologies successfully applied in practical blasting operations.
In recent years, he has actively explored research directions such as the influence of high-precision electronic detonator delays on blasting design and effects. Currently, he leads research projects including Mechanism of Controlled Fragmentation in Precision Delay Blasting (Natural Science Foundation) and Development of an Automatic Design System for Open-Pit Mine Bench Blasting (Industry Collaboration). He has supervised 29 doctoral students and 42 master's students.
He has published over 200 academic papers and authored six monographs, including Modern Blasting Technology, Numerical Simulation of Building Demolition by Blasting, Theoretical Models and Numerical Calculations of Rock Blasting, and Mechanisms of Rock Blasting. His research achievements have been recognized with multiple scientific and technological progress awards from the Ministry of Education, the Ordnance Industry Department, and the China Blasting Association, and have been featured in media programs such as CCTV's Approaching Science.
Additionally, he serves as a Special Committee Member of the Blasting Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, a member of the China-Japan-Korea Committee on Explosives and Blasting Technology, Supervisory Board Chairman of the Beijing Engineering Blasting Association, Head of the Demolition Blasting Expert Group in Beijing's Major Hazardous Projects Expert Database, and an Expert Committee Member of the China Blasting Association (recognized as an Outstanding Contribution Blasting Expert by the China Blasting Association).
